Storm damages major power feeders for Kohima; restoration work still on

DIMAPUR — The Power department has informed the general public and consumers under Kohima electrical division that heavy storm and rainfall on Tuesday has caused massive damage to High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT) power lines at Tseminyu and Ghathashi under Zunheboto district, leading to power outage.

The Executive Engineer of Electrical Division, Kohima, updated that some HT and LT lines have been restored, while restoration work for the rest is on.

“Power personnel are still carrying out restoration work round the clock on a war footing with limited manpower to restore other lines for smooth flow of power supply in the affected areas,” said the official, while urging the consumers to cooperate and bear with the inconveniences.

The feeders that are affected by the damage to the power lines include 33Kv ITI, 33Kv Ringmain-2, 33Kv Chakhabama, 33Kv Lalmati, 11Kv Ministers’ Hill, 11Kv Paramedical, 11Kv Jakhama Civil, 11Kv Jakhama Army, 11Kv Science College Jotsoma, 11Kv Zubza, 11Kv TV Centre Jotsoma, 11Kv Khuzama, 11Kv Kigwema, 11 Kv Sendenyu, 11 Kv Thizama and numerous other LT feeders.
