TKM triennial general conference underway
MOKOKCHUNG — The 24th triennial general conference of the Tzurangkong Students’ Conference (TKM) got underway in Watiyim village, some 70 kilometers away from Mokokchung headquarters, on the theme “Teperang Tarutsu Nubusen (Radiant posterity).” The conference began on January 10 evening would culminate on January 12.
More than 300 delegates from eight units are attending the conference where they would participate in sports, seminars and workshops.
On day two of the conference, Supongmeren Hoki, chairman of NEPED, was the special guest. In his address, Hoki underscored that such students’ conference is not only to learn about academics but an opportunity to garner and inculcate the spirit of unity, social cohesion and setting goals of peace and brotherhood.
As the sports and games began today, he advised the students to discipline their mind, body and soul towards perfection and give their best at what they do.
He further encouraged the students not to think about playing but work towards achieving excellence to represent the state as well as country.
“I expect every player to exhibit the true spirit of sportsmanship and play not only to win but to let the spirit of fair play guide you,” he exhorted the students.
