DIMAPUR — The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, is set to organise the 3rd phase of tribal artisan empanelment mela (TAeM) in Nagaland.
The initiative falls under the ‘Marketing and logistics development for promotion of tribal products from northeastern region (PTP-NER Scheme)’ and aims to provide livelihood opportunities to tribal artisans, stated a DIPR report.
The TAeM will take place on July 29 at the IG Stadium in Kohima, Indoor Stadium Hall-A, with the official launch programme at 10:30 am.
Benefits for participating tribal artisans are:
1. Sample product purchase: TRIFED will purchase sample products from artisans based on marketability as decided by a committee of experts.
2. Travel and daily allowance: Artisans will receive TA-DA of INR 600 if food is not provided by TRIFED or INR 500 if food is provided.
3. Bulk orders: Post selection of sample products, bulk orders will be issued to artisans, as per the decisions of the PSP committee of experts in Guwahati.
4. Online payments: All payments will be made through online means via PFMS within a month of the event.
Meanwhile, the ADC of Kohima, Rhosietho Nguori, has urged tribal artisans and producers to bring sample products for empanelment. Artisans have been requested to bring ST certificate copy, AADHAR card copy, bank passbook first page with account details and two passport-size photos
