Dimapur, Nov. 6 (EMN): Tseminyu Union has impressed upon the state government for justice pertaining to appointment of Nagaland chief secretary.

The union felt that RB Thong, the senior most IAS cadre in Nagaland, is once again deprived and humiliated as he is being superseded by his junior as the state chief secretary.

It stated that the government not adhering to any rules and applying political whims to discriminate its employees isn’t fair. “Such a discriminatory rule even in the highest bureaucratic level was a clear indication of nepotism and violation of rules, which is unfounded and undemocratic,” an update issued by the union’s president H Kegwalo Tep stated.

Expressing displeasure at the government’s attitude, the union appealed to the government to reconsider its decision and deliver justice without looking at the background of the person.

The union felt that the development is an insult to Rengma community in general and Thong in particular.

“Justice should be given (a) place in the governance system and equality to all should be the priority of every government. If justice and equality is violated, then democracy is murdered,” the statement read.

While demanding justice for Thong, the union has affirmed to raise its voice loud and clear against any injustice. It opined that justice is the only way forward for progress in the society.
