DIMAPUR — In an exhilarating final, host Tuensang district defeated Peren district 2-1 to lift the Dr. T Ao Trophy 2024 played at Loyem Memorial astro turf ground, Tuensang town, on September 27.
Tuensang took the lead in the 23rd minute as their rivals scored an own goal. Peren leveled the score through the boots of Kenumdi in the 38th minute.
Tuensang however sealed their victory with the winning goal from Ayenmongba in the extra minute of the first half.
In the individual awards, the best defender went to Liang from Noklak, golden ball to Kenumdi Siarau from Peren, best midfielder to Khiuwangbo Kaurinta from Peren, golden glove to Chiu from Noklak and most valuable player to Ayenmongba from Tuensang.
