Two candidates declare candidature for MMC
MOKOKOCHUNG — Imlisanen Jamir and Lanuakum from NDPP on Tuesday declared their candidature for the upcoming Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) election from Mongsenbai and Salangtem wards respectively.
Declaring his candidature, a 33-year-old Imlisanen Jamir stated that he has been preparing to contest the ULB elections since 2016. He has outlined healthcare, footpaths, drainage systems, street lights, urban roads, waste management and clean drinking water as his primary focus.
“If elected, I will work hand-and-hand with the ward authority in developmental activities with full transparency and accountability,” he vowed to the electorates.
He further appealed to the electorates to give him the opportunity to serve the people and realise his vision for the ward.
He also acknowledged the NDPP Mokokchung region and concerned minister, Metsubo Jamir, for allotting him the party tickets.
Short speeches were also delivered by leaders from the party and ward.
Lanuakum, an assistant general secretary of Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), also declared his candidature for the upcoming MCC election from Salangtem ward.
“For the growth of Mokokchung, I am willing to contribute my service, ideas and experience,” he said while appealing to the electorates for their mandate.
Short speeches were also delivered by leaders from the party and well-wishers.
