Valve reveals official release date of its Steam Deck console
Dimapur, Jan. 27(EMN): A year after its announcement and a brief delay to its launch, Valve on Wednesday has finally revealed the release date of its much-anticipated gaming console Steam Deck.
The Nintendo Switch-like handheld device capable of running PC games, including AAA titles or so the company claims, will go on sale starting February 25.

On the Steam Deck page, the company wrote, “the day is almost here! On February 25th, we will be sending out the first batch of order emails to reservation holders. Customers will have 3 days (72 hours) from receipt of their order email to make their purchase, before their reservation is released to the next person in the queue. The first units will be on their way to customers starting the 28th, and we plan to release new order email batches on a weekly cadence.”
Valve announced that it will start sending invites shortly after 10 am PST on February 25 (11:30pm IST) and users who have reserved a device will have 3 days (72 hours) to confirm their order.
The company clarifies that users won’t be able to change their reservation to a different hardware configuration. If customers want to get a different variant then their initial order will be revoked and they may have to wait for a while to get the device.
The Steam Deck is available in three configurations: A $399 base model with 64GB eMMC internal storage, a $529 model with 256GB NVMe SSD internal storage, and a $649 with 512GB NVMe SSD.
