Dimapur, April 3 (EMN): Watinungsang Imsong became the first person from Nagaland to complete the International Cricket Council (ICC) Level-1 Indian Fast Bowling Centre (IFBC) coaching from Dubai.
Ahidur Rahman, joint secretary, Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) awarded the certificate to Imsong along with 14 IFBC students, who were selected for the state team at the IFBC annual award-cum-IFBC coach completion of ICC Level-1 facilitation programme at IFBC Indisen, Dimapur on Sunday.
Imsong informed that there are only four fast bowling centres in the world — two in England, one in Australia and one at IFBC Indisen, Dimapur — and added that, “it is indeed good news, especially for the Naga people since they do not have to travel outside of Nagaland or India to learn to bowl fast”.
It may be mentioned that Imsong has been invited for a seven-day bowling camp at Omtex Cricket Institute, Mumbai, which is India’s biggest sports brand and cricket institute. He is also the first from Nagaland to be invited as a fast-bowling coach.
