Western Angami Youth Organisation condemns murder of its member

Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): The Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO) has strongly condemned the murder of constable Kevisekho Khate of 10 IRB and Lance Naik T Zewangha Yim of NAP Rangers by their colleague Zenise Yhosu of NAP Rangers, while they were on duty at Lamhainamdi village in Peren district.

The organisation stated that Constable Kevisekho Khate was a permanent resident of Khonoma village a bonafide and active member of WAYO. It added that the deceased were out on duty to maintain peace and tranquility in the society when they were murdered by their own colleague.

A WAYO press release issued by its president, Neituolie Peseyie, and the general secretary, Kevirhebi Mor, stated that the action of the perpetrator of the crime was an act unheard of in the society and reiterated that such vicious crime has no place in a civilised society.

WAYO appealed to the state government to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring out the exact cause, adding it would not rest till the exact cause of the crime is made known to them. It also appealed to the authorities to award befitting punishment to the perpetrator of such heinous crime immediately in the interest of all parties concerned.

Having learned that both the deceased were the only bread earner of their families, it appealed to the government to provide necessary relieves to both the families at the earliest. Since both the deceased were murdered in the line of duty, WAYO appealed to the state government to provide job to a member from each family on compassionate ground.

It further conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for peace of the departed souls.
