WOKHA — A coriander plant from Wokha district, measuring 2.77 metres (9 feet, 1.06 inches), has set a new Guinness World Record.

On April 25 of this year, KVK, ICAR Jharnapani, in collaboration with the Horticulture, Agriculture, Land Record and Survey, and district administration Wokha, completed the final recording.

Subsequently, Yilobemo Erui of Wokha village submitted the plant for the world record title. The confirmation received via email on August 13 stated that the plant has been recorded as the tallest coriander plant in the world.

Seyieneinuo, the wife of Yilobemo Erui, informed that they planted coriander seeds in their kitchen garden last October without using any artificial fertilisers. They purchased the seeds from the open market in Wokha Town as usual.

The physical certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records is expected to arrive soon.
