Workshop for college and school teachers held in Kohima
Kohima, Aug. 15 (EMN): To assist college and school teachers in the crucial shift from traditional to virtual teaching, the education department of Don Bosco College, Kohima, with support from Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) conducted a three-day workshop on ‘Basics of online teaching’ from August 10 to the 12th.
During the three-day workshop, teachers were oriented on virtual management of class and evaluation such as Google Classroom, Google Forms by Deepak Sahu and Madhuri Padaya from KJ Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai; virtual delivery and videos in teaching such as Google Meet, Zoom, and Virtual Boards was led by Dr. Soyhunlo Sebu from the Regional Institute of Education, NCERT, Bhopal; and virtual delivery and videos such as creating and editing videos using OBS and OSVE was led by Dr. Sangeeta Pethiya from the Regional Institute of Education, NCERT, Bhopal.
An update from the college stated that the participants were also given practical sessions and assignments after the workshop.
At the inaugural programme, the principal of Don Bosco College, Kohima, Fr. Dr. P Suresh, welcomed the gathering while Asano Sekhose, chairperson of the Nagaland Board of School Education, motivated and encouraged the participating teachers.
The session was chaired by Jarani Mao, assistant professor of Don Bosco College Kohima, and valedictory session was chaired by Sentuile Daime, assistant professor from the same institute.
A total of 128 teachers from both colleges and schools in Nagaland registered for the workshop.
