DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) has expressed gratitude to the Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), Kingpu and Pangsha villagers for the solidarity and kindness shown in honouring the body of ‘Lieutenant’ (posthumous) Shetoi Yeptho of the NSCN/GPRN (Niki) of Surumi Village, who passed away on July 2 in Myanmar-occupied Naga territory.

In a press release, the WSH said that the selfless acts of wrapping the body of late Yeptho in a Khiamniungan shawl, carrying it across the border on foot and ensuring its safe passage, are a testament to the unwavering spirit of Naga brotherhood and unity.

“Your support has brought immense comfort to the grieving family and our community, and we are indebted to your kindness. We appreciate the warmth and generosity of Kingpu and Pangsha villagers and the Khiamniungan Tribal Council’s dedication to our collective well-being,” the hoho said.

The WSH went on to state that their unwavering support has strengthened “our resolve, reinforced our tribal bonds, and inspired us to continue working together towards a brighter future.”

“Together, we stand united in our pursuit of peace, understanding, and prosperity for all,” the hoho added.
