Xiaomi 13 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to launch soon
Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi, has just unveiled its latest smartphone, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. The new flagship model comes equipped with impressive photography-centric features and cutting-edge hardware including a quad-camera system developed in partnership with Leica and a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra comes with a quad-camera system that includes a primary camera with a 50MP 1-inch IMX989 sensor and a 23mm optically-stabilised lens with a physical two-step aperture. The other three cameras all use the new 50MP IMX858 sensor with zoom, macro and ultrawide capabilities.

To enhance the camera experience, Xiaomi and Leica have added several features such as two camera colour science modes: Leica Vibrant and Leica Authentic. The phone also offers a new 50MP UltraRAW mode that generates 14-bit DNG files with built-in multi-frame sharpening, noise reduction and dynamic range adjustment. Additionally, the phone features a Fast Shot mode that enables users to take a picture in just 0.8s by pre-selecting a focusing distance.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra has a circular lens-like camera module and a metal frame. The phone boasts a leather back panel specifically for the black and green colour variants. The phone features a 6.73″ AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. The phone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and is available in 12/256GB, 16/512GB and 16GB/1TB storage options.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra uses the company’s in-house Loo LiquidCool technology to keep things cool while doing intensive tasks such as gaming. The phone comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be available in three colours: Black, Olive Green and White. The company has confirmed that the device will launch in China on April 21, however, presales for the phone will start early. The phone will cost CNY 5,999 (approx. INR 71,562) for the 12/256GB version, CNY 6,499 (approx. INR 77,541) for the 16/512GB version and CNY 7,299 (approx. INR 87,086) for the 16GB/1TB version. The company plans to launch the phone globally in the coming months.
