Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): Yemhi Memorial College, Dimapur, celebrated its 10th foundation day-cum-graduation day for 2022 and 2023 batches on July 11 at the college premises with Rev. Vitoshe Swu, senior pastor of Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church, as the special invitee.
Delivering the welcome address, the college’s principal, Dr. Kaba Daniel, shared about the institution’s ten years of journey and briefly highlighted the various achievements of the college.
Exhorting the students, the college’s vice principal, Toyeto Chishi, has stressed on the importance of hard work and to become agents of change.
He encouraged the students to dream big, live with integrity and to lean onto God’s guidance when faced with the hardships and trials of life.
An update from the college stated that Rev. Vitoshe Swu offered a prayer of blessings for the graduates and the college on its 10th anniversary.
He also advised the students to do away with narrow mindedness, tribalism, class distinction and to become ambassador of change.
Quoting 1 Corinthians 3:11, he urged the students to lay strong foundation in Christ to eradicate all evils from the society.
Other highlights of the programme included a song presentation by the evangelical union of YMC titled “Count your blessings,” which was followed with the presentation of certificates and awards.
The best graduate award for the Class of 2022 was given to Neojila B Yimchunger (History Honours), while Lideno Y Lotha (English Honours) won the best graduate award for the Class of 2023.
Altogether, 95 students including 51 from 2022 batch and 44 from 2023 batch have graduated from the college.
