YouthNet and Asian Paints officials with trainees after completion of the three-day basic plumbing course in Kohima, on Thursday.

DIMAPUR — YouthNet, in partnership with Asian Paints, launched a basic plumbing course on May 28 at the YouthNet head office in Kohima.

The three-day training programme was designed to provide specialised plumbing skills to the youth of Nagaland while also enhancing the proficiency of existing plumbers in the region, stated an update from YouthNet.

Razouvikhol Luho, nodal officer and project manager, YouthNet, highlighted that the initiative represents a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between YouthNet and Asian Paints.

Since 2018, their partnership has focused on construction painting training under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative ‘Color Academy’ by Asian Paints.

This year, the programme has been expanded to include plumbing training, reflecting a shared commitment to comprehensive skill development and youth empowerment in Nagaland, Luho said.

He also noted that YouthNet, in collaboration with Asian Paints CSR, plans to establish a dedicated training centre in Nagaland.

The basic plumbing course offers participants thorough training, emphasising practical skills and industry knowledge essential for a successful career in plumbing. The programme caters to both new entrants and existing plumbers, ensuring they meet current industry standards.

Future sessions for plumbing and painting training are scheduled to be held in the Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts.

These programmes are structured to provide practical, hands-on experience, enabling participants to acquire valuable skills that support sustainable livelihoods,” it stated.

Interested individuals from Chümoukedima and Dimapur districts can contact 7005591810 to register for the training course.
